Desert Sharks | Meansiders | Plaid Dracula | Jigsaw Youth @ Arlene's Grocery

On a hot summer Tuesday night recently, four kickass bands hit Arlene's Grocery for a benefit show organized by Booked By Grandma (who is always putting on fun shows and benefits!) for Planned Parenthood and Happy Period. As if this lineup wasn't amazing enough, that it was for some really incredible charities was even better. For those who don't know Happy Period, it's an organization that is dedicated to collecting and providing menstrual hygiene products for those in need and who can not access/afford the items themselves. This is HUGELY important work and I was so glad these bands were playing to support this and bring attention to it. Make sure you are heading to their website to find out how you can get involved to help be it organizing a benefit, a drive, or donating items because they are always needed. And of course, all the love in the world to Planned Parenthood who, as you know, has been under constant attack since 45 took office. UGH.

Since I'm already a bit behind on getting these out, I'll get to it and not spend time thinking of what more to say (which is why I'm always behind on blog posts anyway hahaha thinking of what to say in the writeup part!) Suffice it to say all of these bands are sick- you should be listening to them and going to their shows! Hit those links and check em out if you don't already know them. SUPPORT DIY ART AND CULTURE- SHOW UP FOR IT!
